“In a futile attempt to erase our past, we deprive the community of our healing gift. If we conceal our wounds out of fear and shame, our inner darkness can neither be illuminated nor become a light for others… Hope knows that if the great trials are avoided great deeds remain undone and the possibility of growth into greatness of soul is aborted.”

Welcome to living the hope!
We live in a world full of anxiety, depression and trauma. But chances are, you already know that. It’s my experience that we talk about it a lot. Media, social networks and education has been daily reminding of the struggles surrounding mental health. But what do we do with that knowledge? As someone who has dealt with a myriad of issues, both past and present, I’ve been disillusioned. Sure, we talk about the issues; we talk about the struggles; we talk about “acceptance;” but it is rare to hear someone talk about Hope. We must learn how to move forward.
Friends, from the bottom of my heart, I want to say this to you: there IS hope. No matter where you are, what has happened, and what people have said, we don’t have to stay stuck in the black hole. As a follower of Jesus Christ, I have seen and experienced that hope. Movement forward is possible through the power of God’s Grace, and the working of His truth.
So, welcome to Living the Hope! My goal for this site is to be a safe place to share truth, insight and wisdom from people that have “been there.” I believe that we can revive hope to the conversations surrounding mental illness, abuse, trauma and beyond, by pointing to the truth of Scripture and the truth of the Gospel. It’s a community of people that are done with just talk and acceptance, and are placing their hope in the Living Hope, and then living it out!
As a wife, a mom, an artist and a “survivor,” I’ve had both experiences of great despair and great hope. I can tell you I have been there. In fact, there are many days I fall back to that place of hopelessness. Through God’s strength, I move forward – some days faster than others! Let’s join together as we discover Hope in God, and share with others our journey. Join me, as we grow in grace and truth.
